PREVIEW: Hawks to Battle Nationally - Ranked Greyhounds in a GLVC Contest

QUINCY, Ill. – Coming off of a statement win last week at McKendree that saw a combined 125 points and a 2-point conversion stop, the Hawks will look to win their 3rd straight game for the first time since the 2016 season and their first win at the University of Indianapolis.

Record Performances
The Hawks posted several record numbers in their 63-62 overtime win last week. GLVC Offensive Player of the Week Tionne Harris completed 35 passes, which is 2nd most in single game completions. Those completions were thrown for 469 yards. That was good for 2nd most in single game passing yards.

Tremayne Lee rushed the ball 36 times, which is tied for 2nd in single game rushing attempts. He also scored 4 rushing touchdowns to tie for 2nd in the single game rushing touchdowns.

Drew Lenzen's leg was busy on Saturday as he went 9 for 9 on extra points. This is now tied for 1st in single game point after touchdowns converted.

Peyten Chappel jumped into 2nd in career total tackles with 350.

Scouting the Hawks
Quincy enters this week with an overall record of 4-3 (1-1 GLVC). Harris leads the offense completing 129 of 219 passes with 17 touchdowns and a QBR of 148.86. Lee leads the ground game with 113 carries for 577 yards and seven touchdowns. The top target for the Hawks air attack has been AJ Hardin. He has 27 catches for 471 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Senior linebacker Peyten Chappel leads the defense with 71 tackles. Fellow linebacker Peyton Plunkett leads the way with 11 TFLs and 5 sacks.

Chappel is 2nd in all of NCAA Division 2 for active career leaders in total tackles and solo tackles per game.

Scouting the Greyhounds
The Greyhounds (5-1, 2-0 GLVC) enter this week ranked 20th in the latest AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) Division 2 national poll. Last week, they stepped out of conference and went on the road to Saginaw Valley State University. The Cardinals handed UINDY its first loss of the season.

They are led by running back Toriano Clinton, who is the D2 active career leader in rushing yards with 4,472 and all-purpose yards with 5,745. On the season, Clinton has 123 carries for 935 yards and 11 touchdowns. Alonzo Derrick is their favorite receiver with 24 catches for 327 yards and one touchdown. Quarterback Connor Kinnett is 63 of 131 for 863 yards and 10 touchdowns.
