QUINCY, IL---The Quincy University men's basketball team suffered a 73-72 loss at Pepsi Arena on Tuesday (Jan 4) night.
QU held a 42-36 halftime lead while
Adam Moore,
Malik Hardmon, and
Charles Callier all registered double figures in the scoring column in the first half.
The Hawks controlled most of the second half and took a 69-60 lead after
Paul Zilinskas made a jump shot with 6:15 left.
The Bulldogs sprinted to the finish line and did not allow QU to convert a field goal the rest of the game, and took their first lead of the second half on a 3-pointer with 10 seconds left in regulation which proved to be the game winner.
Quincy had the ball on the final possession but was unable to score, and the Hawks came up just short of the win.
