Quincy, Ill. – The Quincy University women's lacrosse team welcomed the second-ranked team in the county to QU Stadium on Friday afternoon (Apr. 9). The Hawks lost to the Lions of Lindenwood by a 22-4 final score.
The Hawks trailed early in the game as Lindenwood scored seven consecutive goals. Danielle Robinson maneuvered through the Lions defense to score the first goal for the Hawks at the 16:06 mark. Quincy found an opening once again not long after when Sarah Conroy assisted Bianca Johnson with the second goal of the match to make it 10-2. The Lions scored three more times before the end of the first half to make it 13-2.
The Lions scored nine goals in the second half to extend their lead. Quincy scored two more times as Robinson scored a free position goal and Heaven-Lee Nichols scored the last goal of the game for the Hawks which was assisted by Robinson to set a 22-4 score at the end of the contest.
Kelly McClure finished the game with 21 saves which is the most in program history.
