ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Quincy University women's lacrosse put up a second half effort that came up short on Friday afternoon (Apr.16) against Lewis University. The Hawks fell by a final score of 14-5.
The Hawks trailed in the first half by nine goals, but they saw daylight with three minutes remaining. Binanca Johnson connected with
Danielle Robinson for the first QU score. Quincy had six total shots on goal in the first half, and
Kelly McClure added five saves.
Lewis started the second half on an early strike, but Quincy countered their attack as
Bianca Johnson assisted on yet another goal, this time to
Heaven-Lee Nichols to pull the Hawks within reach at, 10-2. Quincy went on to score three more goals as Nichols struck on two free position shots.
Danielle Robinson scored the other QU goal, her second of the game and 29th of the season.
Kelly McClure ended the game with 10 total saves, as the Hawks collected 10 ground balls. The second half comeback effort for Quincy fell short as Lewis secured their first GLVC win of the season, 14-5.
