Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University tennis program was back in action today (Feb. 26) to take on Maryville University. The men's squad pulled off a 4-3 win over the Saints, and the women fell by a team score of 6-1. 

Erik Weiler won a marathon match in the number one slot. Weiler defeated Jack Triggs 6-4, 4-6, 12-10 to gain his first singles victory of the year. 

Brenden Everhart won the number three match 6-4, 7-6 for his first win of 2021, and Samuel Contesabile along with Ettore Pavesi each collected singles wins to round out the victories in singles action. 

In doubles, the Saints won all three matchups but gained just one point on the total score as the Hawks won Friday's match 4-3. 

On the women's side, Laila Leist-Alston was the only Hawk to record a win with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the number one spot. 

The men's tennis team will play again next Saturday (March 6) against Saint Louis University at 1:00 p.m. The women won't play again until March 20th against Missouri Baptist at 11:00 a.m.
