Box Score QUINCY, IL---The Quincy Hawks topped Iowa Wesleyan 56-53 on Wednesday (Dec 15) night at Pepsi Arena.
Iowa Wesleyan had the ball at the end of the game down but three but was unable to attempt a 3-point shot to try and force overtime after they finished the game on a 6-0 run. Quincy's defense forced a layup attempt with three seconds left and
Grace Flanagan was able to secure the rebound to win the game.
The Hawks went 4-12 from 3-point range in the first quarter, and attempted a season high 33 3-pointers and they converted 10.
Hawks gathered their largest lead of the game at 56-47 with 1:58 left in the fourth quarter after
Beth Matas Martin dished it to
Sarah Nelson for a basket through contact. They were paced by Matas Martin with 13 points, 6 rebounds and six assists while
Sarah Nelson added 12 points and nine rebounds.
Grace Flanagan added 11 points and hit three 3-pointers, including two in a row on a 6-0 run when the Hawks went up by eight points at 42-34 toward the end of the third quarter.
