SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The Quincy University Hawks hit the road and squared off with the GLVC-leading Illinois Springfield Prairie Stars on Friday night (Oct. 8). Kamou Harris scored Quincy's lone goal, and Michele Barletta made 11 saves in a 1-1 tie. 
The Hawks attempted four shots in the first half with the only shot on goal coming off the leg of Kamou Harris. Harris successfully powered a strike to the back of the net in the 14th minute of the game. 
Quincy goalkeeper Michele Barletta had a busy first half, but he made the necessary stops after corralling six of UIS' shots on goal. QU went to halftime with the 1-0 lead. 
The Prairie Stars tied the game 28 minutes into the second half. Quincy fouled a UIS player in their own defensive box to allow for a penalty kick. The free shot was made and the score moved to a tie, 1-1. 
Friday night's game went the full 110:00 minutes as Barletta managed to stop a total of 11 shots on goal out of Illinois Springfield's 25 shots in the game. The Hawks got just two shots on goal the entire game.
