ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Quincy University men's soccer team suffered a loss at the hands of the Lewis University Flyers on Sunday (Oct. 10) by the score of 2-0. Quincy was held to five total shots with two on goal in the contest.
The Flyers got on the board early as Matthew Beaulieu scored in the 10th minute. Later on in the 39th minute, Arturs Gorodnickis found the net for the Flyers. Quincy could not keep up with the Flyers offensive attack as they were outshot 7-2 in the first half.
Quincy came out aggressive on the offensive side to begin the second half. Cole Hayes was able to get two shots off, however the first was off left and the second was saved by Lewis' goalkeeper Sebastian Doppelhofer.
The Hawks move to 4-6-2 overall on the year, with a 2-5-2 GLVC record. QU will travel to Kirksville, Missouri Friday (Oct. 15) to take on Truman State.
