QUINCY, Ill. - The QU women's soccer team fell by a score of 3-2 on Sunday (Oct, 3rd) afternoon against Southern Indiana.
The Screaming Eagles shocked the Hawks with a score just 22 seconds into the game to take a 1-0 lead. Fifteen minutes later, the Screaming Eagles played a dangerous ball into the box that resulted in another goal which gave USI a 2-0 lead in the 16th minute.
Quincy cut the deficit in half with a
Morgan Evans penalty kick with five minutes left before halftime.
Most of the second half was a battle for possession until USI scored in the 75th minute on a ball that was played toward the back post then tapped in. QU trailed 3-1.
The Hawks did not quit, and
Paige Anderson scored in the 82nd minute to make it a one-goal deficit for QU at 3-2. Quincy was unable to complete the comeback and dropped their fourth straight game.
