MONTEVALLO, Alab. – The Quincy University women's lacrosse program traveled south to take on Montevallo University on Sunday (Mar. 8) afternoon. The Hawks kept the game close in the first half, but the Falcons pulled away in the final thirty minutes to come away with a 14-7 win.
How It Happened
1st Half
Quincy was first to strike in Sunday's contest.
Reece Nagao fired a shot that beat the Falcons goalie to put QU up 1-0 in the first four minutes.
Kara Wilhelm tallied another goal for the Hawks less than two minutes later to extend their lead to 2-0.
Montevallo answered with two quick goals of their own to even things up.

Once again, the Falcons had a timely response. The home team scored with 20:59 left in the first half to bring the score to 3-3.
After the early onslaught of offensive action both teams tightened up their defense.
The game saw nearly seven scoreless minutes before the Falcons broke through again.
The home team ended the first half by scoring five unanswered goals to take a 7-3 lead into the locker room.
The Hawks were only able to muster two shots in the final 20 minutes and both were turned away.
2nd Half
Quincy cut the Falcons lead to three in the second half after back-to-back goals from Nagao and Wilhelm, but Montevallo answered with a 4-0 run to extend their lead to 12-5.
That deficit proved to be too much for the Hawks to overcome in the end.
The Falcons outshot the Hawks 13-8 in the final thirty minutes and went on to win by a final score of 14-7.
