QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University women's lacrosse team took on the Oklahoma Baptist Bison on Saturday (Feb. 29) afternoon at QU Stadium. QU never trailed in the game and freshman goalie Kelly McClure made four clutch saves in the final five minutes to preserve the 10-9 victory for the Hawks.

How It Happened
1st Half
Quincy came out on fire in Saturday's contest. Bianca Johnson, ChanceLyn Sisson, and Reece Nagao all found the back of the net in the first 15 minutes of play to get the Hawks out to a 3-0 lead.

The hot start from QU forced the Bison to take their first timeout.

The short break proved to be beneficial for OBU as they got on the board less than twenty seconds later.

Megan Ganniger extended the Hawks lead back to three with a free position shot, but the Bison scored two quick goals to make the score 4-3.

Quincy inched forward once again with two goals from Nagao and Sisson to take a 6-3 lead with 3:26 remaining.

OBU put the pressure right back on the Hawks, netting two goals before the half. QU went into the locker room with a slim 6-5 lead.

2nd Half
The back-and-forth affair continued in the second half, with the score sitting at 8-7 in favor of QU with 19:04 remaining.

The scoring did not come as frequently in the last thirty minutes of play, but the Hawks made their shots count.

Jenny Ngeth and Bianca Johnson scored five minutes apart to put Quincy up 10-7 with ten minutes left in the game.

The Bison made things interesting down the stretch by getting back within one with 6:02 left to play.

Kelly McClure took matters into her own hands in the final six minutes, saving all four of the shots that OBU put on frame to seal the 10-9 victory for the Hawks.
