Women's Lacrosse Drops Road Game At Northern Michigan

MARQUETTE, Mich. - The Quincy University women's lacrosse team made the long trek to Marquette, Michigan on Sunday (Feb. 23) to take on Northern Michigan University. The Hawks found themselves in a double-digit hole at the half and were never able to recover, falling to the Wildcats 16-4.

How It Happened
1st Half
Northern Michigan outshot the Hawks 30-3 in the first thirty minutes.

Kelly McClure did all she could to could to thwart the Wildcat attack by making 14 saves, but NMU put 12 shots in the back of the net.

The Hawks were unable to break through as all three of their shots in the first half were saved.

QU trailed 12-0 at the break.

2nd Half
After a quiet first half, Quincy found pay dirt to start the second.

Reece Nagao connected with Danielle Robinson four minutes into the half. Robinson buried the shot for her 10th goal of the season to put QU on the board.

The Wildcats answered by going on a 3-0 run to extend their lead to 15-1.

Danielle Robinson, Kara Wilhelm, and Reece Nagao each scored in the final ten minutes, but the NMU lead was too much to overcome.

The home team went on to win by a final score of 16-4.
