Hawks Scorch Peacocks For First Win In Program History; Robinson Tallies 9 Goals

QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University women's lacrosse team made history on Friday (Feb. 21) as the Hawks routed Upper Iowa for their first win since the inception of the program. Danielle Robinson nearly reach double digits with nine goals, leading QU to an 18-7 victory over the Peacocks.

How It Happened
1st Half
Quincy jumped on the Peacocks early, as Bianca Johnson and Danielle Robinson each found the back of the net in the first two minutes.

Reece Nagao joined them in the box score just two minutes later when she was awarded a free position shot and converted to put the Hawks up 3-0.

The Peacocks took their first timeout of the half to talk things over.

The short break went in favor of the visiting team as they scored the next two goals to cut QU's lead to one, but Quincy responded in a big way.

The Hawks outscored UIU 10-1 in the final twenty minutes to take a commanding 13-3 lead into the locker room.

Nagao led QU in the first half with 6 goals, while Robinson added five and Johnson tallied two.

2nd Half
The Peacocks tried to make things interesting in the second half, scoring three of the first four goals to cut the Hawks lead to 14-6.

Quincy was not phased by the visiting team's run, however, ending the game on a 4-1 run.

Once UIU cut the lead to eight, Danielle Robinson took over.

The freshman from St. Charles, Missouri notched four goals and three draw controls in the final eight minutes to seal the 18-7 victory for QU.
