QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University tennis teams faced off with McKendree on Sunday (Oct. 4). In the first home match of the 2020-21 season, QU fell on both the men's and women's side 5-2. 

For the women, Laila Leist-Alston won the number one's match 6-4, 4-6, 10-3. In the number two's match, Nicole Lao defeated her opponent 6-2, 0-2, 12-10 in a hard-fought battle. 

Makaela Hampton and Noni Updyke won the number two doubles pairing, 6-1. 

On the men's side, Erik Weiler won in the number three match-up 6-2, 6-4. Kevin Nathan took the number four's match in comeback fashion 4-6, 6-4, 10-4. 

In doubles, Weiler and Brendan Everhart won the top doubles match-up 6-4.
