ROMEOVILLE, IL – The Quincy University women's volleyball team finished their weekend road trip in Romeoville, Illinois Saturday (Sept. 28) afternoon. The Hawks fell 3-0 to Lewis, who came into the contest ranked 6
th in the country.

The Flyers went ahead 8-4 to start the opening set before QU put a 3-0 run together.
Emily Rehagen put down a kill and
Emma Holt recorded her 9
th service ace of the season to cut the lead to 8-7. The Hawks tied it at 11-11 after back-to-back kills from
Emma Lynch and
Stephanie Mizeur. The Lewis offense used a 5-0 run to go ahead 16-11. QU was able to cut it to four, but the lead was too much for the Hawks to overcome. The Flyers took the first set 25-19.
Lewis jumped out to a 9-5 lead in the second set, forcing QU to take an early timeout. The Flyers were not fazed by the timeout, as they stretched their lead to 14-6.
Makayla Knoblauch fired a kill on the next point to halt the Flyer attack, but Lewis took 11 of the last 14 points to win the second set 25-11.
The Hawks fought back in the third. QU took a 6-5 lead after a Flyer attack error. Both teams traded the next few points, as the score sat tied at 11-11. The one-loss Lewis team proceeded to go on a 5-0 run to go up 16-11 and never gave up the lead. The Flyers took the third set 25-15 to complete the sweep.
