QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's basketball team fell 92-76 to the Truman State Bulldogs on Saturday (Feb. 23). The Bulldogs won both games this season over the Hawks.
Play by Play
1st Half
Quincy opened the game by scoring the first four points in the first minute and a half of action.
Truman State scored the next six points, capped by a deep three-pointer by Nathan Messer.
The Hawks and Bulldogs sat tied at 10-10 at the 14:01 mark in the first half.
Trailing 13-10 with 12:07 to play in the first half,
Jah-Kobe Womack tied the game with a three-pointer.
Nathan Messer drilled another three-pointer for the Bulldogs to put Truman State back in the lead just 17 seconds later. On the next Bulldog possession, Messer hit his third three-pointer to give Truman State a 19-13 lead.
Two more baskets by the Bulldogs put Truman State ahead 23-13 with 9:21 to play in the opening half.
After seven minutes of game time passed, the Bulldogs still held a 10-point lead over the Hawks.
A 9-0 run to end the half gave Truman State a 19-point lead after the first 20 minutes of action.
The Bulldogs shot 64% from the field in the first half and made six three-pointers.
2nd Half
The Hawks and the Bulldogs traded baskets for the first four minutes of the second half.
Just prior to the first media timeout of the half, the Bulldogs held a 22-point lead over the Hawks.
With 6:26 to play in the game the Bulldogs held the largest lead of the game at 26 points.
This lead was too much to overcome and the Hawks fell to the Bulldogs 92-76.
