LIBERTY, Mo. - In the final road game of the 2018-19 season, the Hawks men's basketball team took on the William Jewell Cardinals. Quincy fell to the Cardinals 90-73.
Play by Play
1st Half
Through the first four minutes of play, the Hawks trailed the Cardinals 10-4 as QU struggled to find its footing on the offensive side of the floor.
The Cardinals held a 12-4 lead before the Hawks began to cut into the deficit.
Tanner Stuckman led the comeback bringing the score to 12-8 as Stuckman scored six of the Hawks first eight points.
William Jewell was able to turn the tide of the game by going on a 13-4 run to push their lead back to 25-12.
The Cardinals held this lead until the eight-minute media timeout in the first half. The Cardinals shot 45% from the field over the first twelve minutes and made three three-points to pad their lead over the Hawks.
The Hawks found themselves down 18 with 4:05 to play in the first half follow a three-pointer by the Cardinals.

Tanner Stuckman brought the score to 34-22 in favor of William Jewell prior to the four-minute media timeout.
The Cardinals took a 46-27 lead into the half as
Demetrius Houston drained a jumper as the clock expired to send the teams into the locker room.
2nd Half
Quincy opened the second half on a 6-2 run to bring the lead to 48-33 with 17:52 to play in the game.
The Cardinals responded with a 7-0 run to push their lead back to 55-33.
William Jewell's hot shooting kept the Hawks at bay. Through the first ten minutes of play, the Cardinals shot 62% and made five three-pointers to hold a 73-47 lead over QU.
Quincy was unable to overcome the hot start by William Jewell and fell to the Cardinals 90-73.
