Hawks End 2019 On Three-Game Win Streak

QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's basketball team ended 2019 with a well-rounded win over Iowa Wesleyan Thursday night (Dec. 19). The Hawks shot nearly 70% from the field and over 50% from the three-point line en route to a 115-54 victory over the Tigers.

Seven players reached double figures for QU, led by Tanner Stuckman who finished with 20 points.

How It Happened
The Hawks jumped out to an 8-0 lead to start the contest. Tanner Stuckman, Aziz Fadika, and Charles Callier all got in on the scoring early on.

Quincy stretched their lead to double digits when Callier nailed a free throw to put the home team up 11-1.

The Tigers cut the lead to nine before Justin Warren and Adam Moore knocked down back-to-back jumpers to make the score 22-8.

QU later stretched the lead to twenty after a pair of threes from Viktor Kovacevic and Ryan Briscoe. The Hawks used that momentum to end the first half on a 30-13 run, taking a commanding 60-23 lead into the locker room.

The Hawks continued to pour it on in the second half.

Austin Downing found Aziz Fadika for a fast break layup to start the period. Ryan Briscoe hit Tanner Stuckman for a three-pointer less than a minute later to open up a 65-23 lead.

Quincy stayed in control the rest of the way as freshman guard Trent Champagne nailed five three-pointers in the half to pace the Hawks.

QU went on to win 115-54 as seven Hawks scored over ten points. Tanner Stuckman dropped in 20 points, while Trent Champagne added 17, Charles Callier contributed 15, Aziz Fadika had 14, and Adam Moore, Justin Warren, and Viktor Kovacevic all finished with 12.
