INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced today (Nov. 20) that
Makayla Knoblauch from the Quincy University women's volleyball team received Second Team All-Conference honors.
The sophomore setter from Leo, Indiana finished the season with 1,174 assists. That number was good enough to finish 7
th in the GLVC and 4
th in the QU record book for single-season assists. Knoblauch added 361 digs, 103 kills, 43 blocks, and 24 service aces. She also turned in double-double performances in 19 out of the Hawks 32 matches.
Knoblauch is the first QU women's volleyball player to earn All-GLVC honors since
Bekah Raebel took home first team recognition in 2017.
Junior
Alaina Rothermich was also named Quincy's recipient of the GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award. Each of the 16 conference schools choose one student-athlete who has distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. Rothermich is now eligible to become one of QU's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.
