1st Half
The Hawks looked to jump on a struggling SBU team that came into Friday night's contest with just one win on the season. QU did just that by scoring just before the 6
th minute.
Aubrey Reis scored on two redirected balls first off the foot of
Alsadiq Hasan, then by
Anthony Christante. Reis tapped the ball past the keeper to give QU the early 1-0 lead.
Forward
Evan Garcia had two chances in the 7

th minute, and he missed just wide in the 11
th minute of play.
The Hawks continued their pressure with three shots in three minutes.
Anthony Christante saw his header off a corner kick miss just wide of the post in the 20
th minute. In the 23
rd minute,
Cooper Reis fired a shot, but it hit the crossbar. Christante attempted to head in the rebound but missed high.
Southwest Baptist came down the field and created a scoring chance. The Bearcats ripped a shot towards a vacant part of the net, but one of QU's defenders stepped in front of the shot to keep SBU off the board.
In the 36
th minute, the Hawks struck again. Quincy was fouled on a run inside the box setting up a penalty kick.
Aubrey Reis took the kick and scored for the second time in the game. QU led 2-0.
The Hawks went into the locker room with the two-goal lead.
2nd Half
QU started where they left off in the first half. Two shots in the first three minutes set the tone for the final forty-five minutes.
Anthony Binaei ripped a shot high and
Macker Little had his shot saved by the SBU goalkeeper.
In the 59
th minute, the Bearcats were given a red card after an altercation with the referee. They were forced to play a man down in the last thirty minutes of the game.
After the red card, QU's attack got off twelve shots and owned the possession to keep SBU off balance. Of those twelve shots, four were on goal, and one hit the crossbar in the 62
nd minute.
The persistent attack finally paid off in the final three minutes.
Cooper Reis scored his third goal of the season after he settled a pass, made a move, and ripped a shot from the top of the box. The shot found the back of the net to give QU a 3-0 win.
