QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University women's basketball team struggled offensively in a 60-44 loss to McKendree Thursday night (Jan. 24). 

Play by Play
1st Half
The Hawk offense could not find the bottom of the net in the first half. QU shot just 16% from the floor in their slowest start of the year. 

Five minutes into the first quarter, the Hawks trailed just 5-4 after a basket from Alexa Low. 

The Bearcats ended the quarter on a 8-2 run. McKendree led just 12-7 going into the second quarter. 

In the next quarter, the Hawk offense scored the first five points. Lexi Doyle made a contested lay up and Kennedy Prince made a 3-pointer to tie the game at 12-12. 

McKendree ended the half on a tear. The Bearcats held Quincy scoreless in the final eight minutes while also ending the 1st half on a 16-0 run. 

McKendree led 28-12 going into the break. 

2nd Half
Quincy picked up the urgency on offense after halftime. QU scored more points in the third quarter (15) than in the first two combined (12). 

Despite the added offense, the Hawks were unable to bring the Bearcats' lead to under eighteen points. They trailed 46-27 going into the fourth. 

In the final quarter, the Hawks were never able to get closer than fourteen points as McKendree got the win 60-44. 

Kennedy Prince was the only Hawk scorer in double digits with 12 points.
