LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The #1 Bellarmine Knights defeated the Quincy Hawks men's basketball team 99-58 Thursday night (Jan. 10). Bellarmine is currently undefeated with a perfect 13-0 record.
Play by Play
1st Half
The Knights and Hawks traded three-point baskets in the opening minute of the game. Following the three-pointers, the Knights opened up a 14-0 run to take a 17-3 lead.
Four straight points by
Marcus Hinton cut the lead to 17-7 with 12:52 to play in the opening half.
A second scoring run by the Knights pushed their lead to 25-7. The Knights inside game was the difference during the first ten minutes of the first half.
The Knights offensive output was paced by a tremendous shooting performance. Bellarmine shot 67% from the field and made four three-pointers to take a 52-23 lead into the half.
QU was held to 30% shooting and went 3-13 from behind the arc in the first 20 minutes of the GLVC contest.
2nd Half
Bellarmine began the second half by scoring the first two baskets and extending their lead to 56-23.
The Knights continued their strong offensive performance in the second half. The Knights shot 55% in the second half. The Hawks offense scored 35 second half points but was unable to keep pace with Bellarmine.
Bellarmine defeated the Hawks 99-58.
Demetrius Houston and
Marcus Hinton led the Hawks in scoring, each with 11 points.
