QUINCY, Ill. - Senior 
Cassidy Foley's overtime goal gave the Quincy University Hawks a 1-0 win over the visiting Truman State Bulldogs on Sunday (Sep. 23).  The Hawks improved to 5-3 on the season and 3-1 in the GLVC.
Play by Play
The Hawks and the Bulldogs were evenly matched from the opening kick off.  Both defenses played extremely well and limited the offensive chances for both teams.  
In the first half, the Hawks held the Bulldogs without a shot.  QU was able to tally five shots in the first half but just one was on goal.  
The Hawks best chance to score came in the 23rd minute of play.  
Cassidy Foley took a pass just outside the box. Foley settled the ball and drove a shot just high of the net.  
Both defenses continued their strong play and the teams went into the half tied 0-0.  
The Hawks offense came out aggressive in the second half, notching 10 shots.  However, the Hawks were unable to get on the board.  
QU's defense was just as continued to play well in the second 45 minutes of action, holding the Bulldogs to three shots on goal.  
Emilee Autry made all three saves to keep the score tied at 0-0.  
The Hawks and Bulldogs would head to overtime after a scoreless 90 minutes of play.  
In the first minute of overtime, 
Mary Maloney took a pass and carried it into the box.  Maloney was fouled inside the box to give the Hawks a penalty kick.  
Cassidy Foley took advantage and scored her fifth goal of the season to give the Hawks a 1-0 win.  It was Foley's second goal off a penalty kick this season.
