LOUISVILLE, KY. - The Quincy University women's volleyball team lost in straight sets to Bellarmine on Friday night. The Hawks fell 27-29, 24-26, and 22-25.

Play by Play
In the first set, both teams played each other closely. Neither Quincy nor Bellarmine led by more than four points in the set. Quincy took advantage early and held a 7-3 lead. The Knights would come back with a three point run later in the set to make the score 10-9 favoring Bellarmine.

Quincy regained the lead on a kill by Stephanie Mizeur to make the score 14-13. Later in the set, Quincy trailed 22-19, but the Hawks scored four straight to go ahead 23-22. 

The Hawks had a 24-23 lead as well as a 25-24 lead, but could not finish off the Knights as they came back to win the first set 29-27.

The second set was similar to the first. Bellarmine got ahead early with a 7-3 lead, but Quincy came back with three in a row to cut the lead to 7-6.

Bellarmine pushed their lead back to three before Quincy answered back with three to tie the score at nine. After a point by the Knights, QU went ahead 12-10 on another three point run.

With Quincy leading 15-12, the Knights rattled off five straight to go back ahead 17-15. 

Bellarmine stole the momentum, and the Hawks dropped set two 26-24.

In the third set, Bellarmine put it on the Hawks early going ahead 7-1. QU managed to respond with a five point run which made the score 10-9 Bellarmine. 

Later in the set, Quincy scored three straight to make it 15-14. Both Sara Rathbun and Stephanie Mizeur collected kills to tie the game and then take the lead. 

The Knights scored seven straight to answer the run by Quincy. Bellarmine once again took the momentum away from the Hawks and would go on to win the set and the game.
