QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University tennis teams split its matches with William Jewell Friday (Mar. 30). The men's team defeated the Cardinals 7-2 and the women's team was defeated 7-2.
Women's
Rebecca McIsaac was the lone Hawk to secure a victory in singles action. McIsaac won her match after dropping the first set 6-4. She responded by winning the second set 7-6 (7-4). McIsaac completed the comeback with an 11-9 third set win.
The team of Abby Moore and Anna Konczak picked up the second Hawk win of the afternoon. Moore and Konczak won the doubles match 8-4.
Men's
The Hawks men's tennis team won five singles competitions to secure a win over the Cardinals. The men's team also picked up a pair of doubles wins to complete the 7-2 win.
Michael Lesko picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win in No.2 singles. Dane Mechali won his match 6-1, 6-4.
Colin Adams won 6-2, 6-2 in No.4 singles. Erik Weiler and Wyatt Pauley each picked up singles wins.
The doubles team of Adams and Ryan McMillan won 8-1 in No.2 doubles. Mechali and Weiler also won 8-1 in No.3 doubles.
Both teams are back in action tomorrow at Rockhurst University.
