QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's volleyball team fell in straight sets to the Milwaukee School of Engineering Friday afternoon (Mar. 2). The Hawks fell 25-22, 25-19, 25-16.
The Raiders hit .359 in their three-set win over the Hawks and committed just 12 attack errors in the match. The Hawks led 12-11 in the first set before the Raiders took 8 of the next 10 points to grab a 19-14 lead. The Raiders defeated the Hawks 25-22 in the opening set.
The Hawks again held the early lead in set two at 5-3. The Raiders took 14 of the next 17 points to hold a 17-9 lead over the Hawks. QU cut the lead to 20-15 but were unable to overcome the deficit and fell in set two 25-19.
In the third set, the Hawks trailed 16-15, battling to try and extend the match to the fourth set. An 8-0 run by the Raiders gave MSOE a 24-15 lead. The Hawks fell in the third set 25-16.
Anthony Winter led the Hawks with nine kills and
Noah Randall added 13 assists.
The Hawks have a pair of matches tomorrow (Mar. 3) against Clarke University and Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee.
QU sits at 8-10 on the year and will return home next Tuesday against Lindenwood (Mar. 6).
