Hawks Tennis Splits With Kutztown

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's and tennis teams took on Kutztown University Friday morning (Mar. 16).  The Hawks split with the Golden Bears with the men's team falling 7-2 and the women's team winning 8-1.  

The women's tennis team was dominant in the 8-1 win.  The Hawks took five of the six singles competitions and all three of the doubles matches.  

Sydney Lynch, Rebecca McIsaac, Rita Kanaeva, Abby Moore and Anna Konczak all won in straight sets in their singles matches.  

The team of Lynch and McIsaac won their doubles match 8-4,  Moore and Konczak won 8-3 and Kanaeva and Maria Peterson completed the sweep with an 8-1 win.  

The women's tennis team is now 4-2 during the spring season.  

The men's team fell to the Golden Bears 7-2 on Friday.

Despite several close matches, the Hawks picked up just one win in both singles and doubles matches.  

Erik Weiler picked up a win in No. 5 singles with an 8-2 match win.  

The doubles team of Dan Mechali and Weiler won in No. 3 doubles with an 8-4 win.  

The Hawks are now 5-5 on the year.
