QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's basketball team fell to the Southern Indiana University Screaming Eagles 92-65 Saturday afternoon (Feb. 3).
The Hawks fell behind early, trailing 18-7 with 14:40 remaining in the first half. The Hawks cut the lead to six after a three-pointer by Robby Dosier with 11:09 to play in the half.
QU continued to battle throughout the first half keeping the Southern Indiana lead to seven with 3:33 remaining in the first half. The Screaming Eagles outscored the Hawks 10-1 over the final three minutes to push the lead to 46-30 just before the half.
Southern Indiana continued its strong performance in the second half, scoring on each of its first three possessions.
QU continued to battle but the Screaming Eagles shooting was too much for the Hawks.
Southern Indiana would hold on for its 19th win of the season with a 92-65 win over QU. The Screaming Eagles improved to 10-2 in the GLVC.
The Hawks fell to 7-15, 3-10 in the GLVC.
Demetrius Houston led the Hawks with 16 points on 6-14 shooting. Senior Bobby Frasco added 13 points and grabbed a pair of rebounds. Emmanuel Little of Southern Indiana led all scorers with 25 points.
The Hawks return to action on February 8th against the University of Wisconsin-Parkside at 7:30 in Pepsi Arena.
