Hawks Falter In Monday Night Matchup With Lindenwood

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Quincy University women's basketball team dropped its non-conference match up with Lindenwood University 84-60 on Monday night. The Lions made 60% of their shots in the second half to pull away for the win. 

Play by Play
1st Half
The Hawks were able to overcome an early defecit in the first. Lindenwood connected on the first two baskets to go ahead 5-0.

Quincy tied it at 9-9 with a made three pointer by Maddie Spagnola with 6 minutes left in the first. QU gained its first lead of the game a minute later. This time, Alexa Low made a jump shot to put the Hawks up 13-11. 

Ella Gobald hit from deep to put Quincy up 16-14. Less than 60 seconds later, the Hawks held a 21-15 lead after another basket by Spagnola. 

Lindenwood stole back some momentum with a made shot in the paint at the buzzer to make it 26-23 QU going into the second quarter

The Hawks were slowed offensively in quarter number two. Quincy only scored nine points in the quarter, and LU took a 45-35 lead into halftime. 

2nd Half
The Lions were able to limit Quincy to just 25 points in the second half. The Hawks shot just over 27% as they tried to eliminate the halftime deficit. 

Lindenwood was able to fend off the Hawks by shooting 60% from the field.

The Lions pulled ahead by working the boards. The Hawks were out-rebounded 24-10 in the second half as they fell 84-60.
