QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University men's basketball team was unable to keep pace with Lincoln in game two of the Subway Classic. The Blue Tigers shot over 50% from the field in the win.
Play by Play
The Hawks found themselves in an early hole as Lincoln scored the first five points of the game.
Tanner Stuckman was able to get the Hawks back in it with a made jumper and a 3-pointer. Quincy trailed 7-5.
The Blue Tigers rallied for an 8-0 run to move ahead 15-5.
With 11 minutes left in the first half,
Jah-Kobe Womack knocked down a three pointer to make the score 24-18. Just two minutes later, LU was back in control 32-19 after a made basket from beyond the arc.
Just before the half, Quincy cut Lincoln's lead to 43-36 after a made free throw by
Marcus Hinton. Lincoln made a 3-pointer on the next possession and took a 46-36 lead into the locker room.
2nd Half
In the first two and a half minutes of the second half, the Hawks were unable to cut into the lead. LU remained ahead by after a long distance jumper pushed the lead to 11.
The Hawks would not get within ten points the rest of the way. Lincoln's offense continued to score at a high rate as they pushed their lead to 17 with less than ten minutes to play.
Quincy shot just 32% from the field including just 1-9 from deep in the second half. The Hawks dropped to 5-4 with the 81-66 loss.
