ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Three goals in the first thirty minutes proved to be the difference for the Quincy University men's soccer team on Tuesday night (Oct. 9). The Hawks dropped a non-conference matchup to Lindenwood University 3-2.

The Hawks were caught on their heels to start the game. Lindenwood scored in the 10th minute to gain an early 1-0 advantage.
Less than five minutes later, the Lions had a 2-0 advantage. LU's Thomas Hutcheson blasted a shot from 25 yards out for his 7th goal of the season.
Hutcheson wasn't finished. In the 27th minute, the senior headed his 8th goal of the season to give LU a 3-0 lead. Quincy was unable to get on the board before the half.
In the second half, Quincy needed to pick up the offensive intensity in order to get back in the game. The Hawks managed just four shots in the first half. QU was able to create over triple that amount in the second half with 13.
The Hawks got on the board in the 81st minute.
Kingsford Adjei collected a deflected shot for his 5th goal of the season.
Adjei gave the Hawks more life with another goal just four minutes later. The freshman was fouled inside the box and awarded a penalty kick. Adjei buried the shot to put the Hawks within one.
QU had a prime chance in the final two minutes of the game. The Hawks played a free kick from 40 yards out into the box.
Alec Roussin gained possesion of the ball but had a flat angle to the goal. Roussin tried to sneak his shot in towards the near post, but it deflected off the bar.
The Hawks were unable to complete the comeback and fell 3-2.
