LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Quincy University men's soccer team was unable to fend off a persistent Bellarmine attack in their first round loss in the GLVC Tournament. The Knights scored three times in the second half on their way to a 4-0 win over the Hawks.

The Bellarmine Knights took it to the Hawks from the opening whistle. The Knights got a shot on goal in the first five minutes, but
Adam Whybrow made the save.
Bellarmine continued to keep the foot on the gas pedal. In the 7th minute, BU took the lead. Gilio Aviles scored on a shot in the box to put the Knights in front.
The Hawks looked to equalize in the 10th minute.
Spencer Van Nest sent a header shot towards the net, but the ball sailed over the net.
Just before the 12th minute,
Kyle Fraser sent a shot towards the goal, but he missed the mark wide left.
Justin Armfield followed with a shot of his own in the 15th minute of play. His shot also missed the mark and the Hawks still trailed 1-0.
Quincy created two more scoring chances in the 32nd and 34th minutes.
Aubrey Reis got a shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the BU keeper denied the attempt.
In the 34th minute,
Kingsford Adjei tried Bellarmine's keeper with a shot on goal, but once again the Hawks were denied and trailed 1-0 going into the half.
The Knights closed the game by scoring three goals in the final 32 minutes. Bellarmine scored in the 57th, 79th, and 82nd minute to pull ahead. BU outshot Quincy 14-2 in the final half.
QU was shut out for just the third time in 2018. Despite the 4-0 loss, the Hawks will still likely go down as a top-3 scoring offense in the GLVC this season.
