ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Quincy University men's basketball team began its season with an exhibition against A-10 conference favorite the St. Louis University Billikens Saturday night (Oct. 27).
The Hawks kept the game close in the early stages as
Tanner Stuckman drilled a three-pointer at the 16:17 mark and the Hawks trailed 4-3 to the Billikens.
QU trailed SLU 17-7 at the first media timeout.
The preseason pick to win the A-10 conference showed its offensive prowess for the final ten minutes of the first half.
The Billikens outscored the Hawks 27-7 to end the half and led QU 44-14.
SLU continued its offensive output in the second half and comfortably held on for an 85-42 win over the Hawks.
Tanner Stuckman and
Marcus Hinton led the Hawks with nine points and each grabbed four rebounds in the contest.
The Hawks shot 17% in the first half and shot 35% in the second half. QU was 2-22 from 3-point range.
