QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's and women's tennis team competed in a triangular event against Lewis & Clark and Lindenwood-Belleville this past Friday (Sept. 22) and Saturday (Sept. 23).
The women's team went a combined 15-0 in their two matches. The men's team defeated Lewis & Clark 8-1 and lost to Lindenwood Belleville 7-2.
Against Lewis & Clark,
Rebecca McIsaac (Fairview Heights, IL / Belleville East) defeated Marta Garcia 4-6, 6-0, 10-3 in number 1 singles.
Sydney Lynch (Springfield, IL / Sacred Heart Griffin) defeated Anna Holland 6-3,6-0 in number 2 singles.
Rita Kanaeva (Toronto, Canada) defeated Laura Moore 6-0, 2-6,10-6 in number 3 singles.
Abby Moore (Quincy, IL / Quincy Notre Dame) defeated Ashton Tewell 6-0, 6-1 in number 4 singles.
The women's doubles teams of McIsaac and Lynch defeated Garcia and Holland 8-2. The team of Moore and
Anna Konczak (Peru, IL / LaSalle-Peru) defeated Moore and Tewell 8-4.
On the men's side against Lewis & Clark, the Hawks lost just one match. Micahel Lesko (Columbia, IL / Gibault Catholic) fell 7-6, 7-5.
Danyil Vayser (Round Lake, IL / Gymnasium "Konsul" #86) defeated Juan Chinchilla 4-6, 6-1, 10-5.
Erik Weiler (Edwardsville, IL / Edwardsville) defeated Joe Segneri 6-4, 6-1.
Collin Adams (Quincy, IL / Quincy) defeated Alex Goldacker 6-3, 6-2.
Ryan McMillan (Downers Grove, IL / Downers Grove South) won 6-0, 6-0 over Ryan Little.
Wyatt Pauley (St. Cloud, MN / St. Cloud Tech)defeated Joe Papin 6-1, 6-0.
The doubles team of Weiler and Vayser defeated Savic and Segneri 8-1. Adams and McMillan defeated Chinchilla and Goldacker 8-0.
Patrick Anderson (Racine, WI / St. Catherine's) and
Jon Claywell (Godfrey, IL / Marquette Catholic) defeated Little and Papin 8-0.
Against Lindenwood-Belleville the women's team won all nine matches. McIssac won 7-6, 7-5 against Daniella Merchan. Lynch defeated Teah Flynn 6-2, 6-1. Kanaeva defeated Roxana Lacayo 6-0, 6-0. Moore defeated Titzer 6-4, 5-7, 10-6. Konczak defeated Sam Troilo 6-3, 6-1. Peterson defeated Anni Lohmus 6-1, 6-2.
The doubles team of McIssac and Lynch defeated Flynn and Trolio 8-0. Moore and Konczak defeated Merchan and Lacayo 8-2. Kanaeva and Peterson defeated Ttizer and Lohmus 8-0.
The men's team fell to Lindenwood Belleville 7-2.
Erik Weiler defeated Lucas Roman 7-6, 7-5. The doubles team of Weiler and Vayser defeated Callirgos and Roman 8-4.
The Hawks next event is on October 1st at the University of Illinois Springfield.
