Hawks Fall To SLU in Pre-GLVC Tune-Up

QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University men's tennis team was in action for the first time in nearly a month, dropping a 7-0 match at Saint Louis University on Wednesday (March 22) afternoon in the Gateway City.

The match was the Hawks' first since they played Lewis on Feb. 24.

Quincy came close to taking the doubles point as senior Erik Eldagsen (Santa Coloma de Cervella, Spain/East Central) and junior Collin Adams (Quincy, Ill.) led at first singles, 5-4, before being called off, while juniors Michael Lesko (Columbia, Ill./Gilbault Catholic) and Ryan McMillan (Downers Grove, Ill./South) came up just short at third doubles, 6-4.

The Hawks (0-9) were not able to come up with a win in singles play as Eldagsen came the closest, losing to Juan Calero, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 2 singles.

The Hawks will return to action on Saturday (March 25) when they take on Truman at Reservoir Park to open Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
