QUINCY, Ill. - A strong second half pushed the Rockhurst Hawks past the Quincy University men's basketball team 82-66 Thursday evening (Nov. 30).
A pair of three-pointers by
Bobby Frasco got the Hawks off to an early lead. The Hawks remained in control during the first half and held a 22-17 lead with 9:47 to play in the first half.
Over the next four minutes of action, Rockhurst went on a 12-0 run to grab a 29-22 lead.
QU scored all of its points from the foul line during the remaining four and half minutes to play in the first half. QU went 9-12 from the foul line and trailed Rockhurst 36-33 at the end of the first half.
To begin the second half, Rockhurst went on a 20-9 run to open the lead up to 56-42.
With nine minutes to play,
Ryan Briscoe scored to trim the Rockhurst lead to 63-52.
QU could bring the lead no closer and fell to the Rockhurst Hawks 82-66.
Rockhurst knocked down 10 three-pointers compared to six for QU.
QU was held to 38% shooting from the field in the contest.
The Hawks finish their road trip Saturday (Dec. 2) in Liberty, Mo. against GLVC foe William Jewell.
