QUINCY, Ill. - Bekah Raebel paced the Hawks with 21 kills in QU three-set victory over Maryville.  The Hawks won 25-18, 25-20, 25-19.  

The Hawks and the Saints were tied 12-12 in the first set before the Hawks grabbed control with four straight points to take a 16-12 lead.  The Hawks tallied 17 kills in the first set as Raebel led the way with six in the first set.  

QU also forced seven hitting errors by the Saints in the first set. 

The Hawks held a 6-3 lead early in the second set.  The Saints battled back to take a 9-8 lead.  With the score tied at 12-12, the Hawks took the next four points to gain control of the set.  

Maryville was able to bring the score to 20-17 but the Hawks would not relinquish the lead any further.  The Saints committed three attack errors in the final five points and the Hawks won the set 25-20.

The Saints and Hawks battled to a 10-10 tie in the third set.  The Hawks took eight of the next 11 points to take an 18-13 lead.  This lead was enough for the Hawks to hold on for a 25-18 win.

Miranda Rodriquez (Joliet, IL / Joliet Catholic) and Sara Rathbun (Stanford, IL / Olympia) combined for 40 assists for the Hawks.

QU improved to 8-20, 5-12 in the GLVC.

QU will play McKendree tomorrow (Nov. 11) at 3 p.m.
