QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's soccer team fell to Bellarmine 2-0 Monday Oct. 9.  The Hawks and Knights were forced to postpone the original game from yesterday (Oct. 8) to a 12 ET. game today due to weather.  

The Knights game plan held the Hawks offense in check and applied constant pressure to the Hawk defense.  The Knights tallied three shots in the first two minutes but none were able to find the mark.  

The QU offense just couldn't find its rhythm in the first half and recorded just one shot, despite three corner kicks.  

The Hawks and the Knights headed into the half tied at 0-0.

QU had an early chance to score in the second half on a shot by John Conley (Webster Groves, MO / Webster Groves). Conley's shot was turned away by the Bellarmine goaltender and the score remained deadlocked at 0-0.  

In the 49th minute of action, Callum Southern took a shot from 10 yards out and scored to put the Knights up 1-0.  

Eight minutes later, Southern struck again.  This time from 12 yards away for his second goal of the game, sixth on the season.  

The Hawks were unable to break the Knights defense and fell 2-0.  

The Hawks were outshot 15-6 and registered two shots on goal.  

QU falls to 5-6, 4-5 in the GLVC.  Bellarmine improves to 7-4, 5-4 in the GLVC.  The Hawks return home Friday Oct. 13 against the University of Indianapolis for their final home stand of the season.
