QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's soccer team fell to Lewis 3-2 Friday night (Oct. 20).  

Lewis scored quickly, scoring in the 8th minute of action.  Nico Mueller beat the Hawks defense for his seventh goal of the year. 

The Flyers scored again in the 17th minute to take a 2-0 lead after Mueller scored his second goal of the game and eighth goal of the season.  

The Hawks answered back in the 20th minute with Michael Timmermann (St. Charles, MO / Francis Howell) scoring his first goal of the season.  Timmermann scored from 20 yards out to cut the lead in half to 2-1.  

Just two minutes later, Lewis scored their third goal of the half as Nico Mueller completed his hat trick in the 22nd minute to push the lead to 3-1.  

The Hawks and Flyers went into the half with the score reading 3-1 in favor of Lewis.  

QU cut into the lead in the 75th minute as Anthony Chirstante (Fenton, MO / Vianney) scored his second goal of the season to bring the score to 3-2.  

The Hawks were unable to tie the score and fell to the Flyers 3-2.  

Nate Griffin (St. Louis, MO / CBC) made four saves in the loss.  Both teams tallied 12 shots with seven each being on goal.  

The Hawks fell to 5-9, 4-8 in the GLVC.  QU travels to Illinois Springfield Sunday (Oct. 22) to complete the road trip.
