30-For-30 Great Moments in QU Football History

QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University football team will celebrate homecoming with special guests from the 1986 QU football team. The 1986 team comes back to QU Stadium for the 30th anniversary of the reinstatement of football at Quincy University.
 
Over the three days prior to Saturday's homecoming game we will take a look back at 30 great moments in the history of Hawks football. Following is the second edition of ten great QU football moments in chronological order.

--- November 13, 1993 – QU 21, C-SC 20 - Culver-Stockton rallies to make the score 21-20 on a touchdown pass with 1:20 remaining in the game, but a 2-point conversion pass fails and QU wins the Ol' Mississippi Bucket and preserves its undefeated season. 

--- 1993 – The Hawks finished the only undefeated season in QU's renewed history (9-0) and were crowned Illini Badger Conference Champions.

--- October 29, 1994 – QU 34, Eureka 33 (in overtime) - Mark Wise bats away a 2-point conversion pass on the final play of the game as QU repeats as the Illini-Badger Conference champions. Chip Campbell sparked the comeback with two fourth-quarter touchdown passes. Eureka missed a game-winning 35-yard field goal at the end of regulation. Both teams scored on their first possession in overtime, and the Hawks scored on Rob Munson's 1-yard plunge in the second overtime.

--- 1994 – The Hawks claim back-to-back Illini Badger Conference Champions with 17-1 record in that two season time span.

--- November 2, 2002 – QU 43, Kentucky Wesleyan 40 - LeVar Ammons rushes for a school record 275 yards and three TDs, but the Hawks need two fourth-quarter touchdown passes from Shane DeSherlia to win 43-40.

--- 2002 - LeVar Ammons has four consecutive games of more than 200 yards rushing. He gained 265 yards against St. Joseph, 267 yards against Culver-Stockton, 275 yards against Kentucky Wesleyan and 236 yards against Butler for a total of 1,043 yards in just four weeks.

--- September 18, 2004 – Billy Survillion returns two punts for touchdowns in 29-7 victory over Iowa Wesleyan.

--- November, 15, 2007 — QU 45, William Penn 42. - Quarterback Tyler Truttmann, making his first collegiate start, accounted for five touchdowns — two rushing and three passing — to lead the Hawks to a road victory and guarantee a third consecutive winning record. QU won on Alex Beard's 33-yard field goal as time expired.

--- August 27, 2009 – Sam Donatucci scored on a 1-yard run with 43 seconds left in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 20-20 at FCS Indiana State. After a missed extra point, the Hawks and Sycamores went to overtime. Sam Donatucci gave the Hawks the upset win with another 1-yard plunge to win at Indiana State 26-20 OT.

--- November 5, 2011 – Bobby Brenneisen goes 40 for 70 for 466 yards and five touchdowns against Malone
