Tennis Falls to Drury in First GLVC Match of Season

QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's and women's tennis teams fell to Drury University at home on Saturday, April 2nd to start Great Lakes Valley Conference play. The QU women fell 9-0, while the men fell 8-1. Drury came in ranked No. 33 on the women's side and No. 40 on the men's side.

The QU men (4-8, 0-1 GLVC) had a tight number three doubles match with the duo of Danyil Vayser and Chris Bueler competing to a tie-breaker. Damien Minguez and Trevor Bachus came away with a 9-8 (9-7) win for DU (8-4, 2-0 GLVC)

Chris Bueler won the men's lone point with a 7-5, 6-2 victory in number six singles. Ryan McMillan won in her first set at number five singles 6-4. McMillan fell in the last two sets 6-1 and 11-9.

The QU women (9-5, 0-1 GLVC) welcomed Sydney Lynch back to the court with partner Amy Kuhle. The duo put together a strong showing falling 9-7 to Drury (11-1, 2-0 GLVC)

The Hawks travel to Kirksville, Mo. to play Truman State University in a GLVC match on Sunday, April 3rd.
