Men's Tennis Falls to Coe, 8-1

QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's tennis team suffered a loss at No. 36 Coe College this Sunday (Feb. 28) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Coe won the match 8-1, sweeping the singles matches. QU won one of three doubles matches.

Patrick Kuhle and Ryan McMillan locked up the Hawks' (4-3) only win in number one doubles. Kuhle and McMillan finished with an 8-3 win.

Coe (8-1) took the number two and number three doubles, 8-5 and 8-3 respectively.

Michael Lesko put together a battle at three singles. Nate Ackert took the first set 6-3. Lesko rallied back for a 6-3 win in set two. The final set was a race to 10 points that Ackert won 10-6.

Coe won the rest of the singles matches to take the overall match.

The Hawks travel to Tampa, Fla. on March 10 to play Eckerd College at 3 p.m. over Spring Break.
