#23 Lady Hawks Embark on Final Road Trip of the Regular Season

QUINCY, Ill. - The No. 23 Quincy University women's basketball team will travel West to Kansas City, Mo. to play Rockhurst University on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 5:15 p.m. The Lady Hawks will head to Liberty, Mo. to play William Jewell College on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 1 p.m. to finish their final road trip of the regular season. QU holds a 5-3 record on the road entering the weekend. The Lady Hawks have defeated RU (67-66) and WJC (76-64) in Pepsi Arena earlier this season.

Five Fun Facts Quincy (20-4, 11-4 GLVC)
- The first NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Rankings have the Lady Hawks listed at 5th (Page 2). Ashland ranks first with one loss, followed closely by Lewis with one loss as well. Drury ranks third, and Bellarmine is one spot ahead of QU at fourth. The final three spots are filled by GLIAC schools. Ohio Dominican is fifth, followed by Grand Valley State and Saginaw Valley State respectively. The first two out are Walsh and Michigan Tech. GVSU, SVSU, WU, and MTU all have seven losses.

- The countdown begins with the final three games of the regular season and entering the postseason for Maggie Cunningham. The senior has 935 career points entering the weekend. Cunningham looks to become the 22nd Lady Hawk to join the 1,000 point club.

- Anika Webster has provided a spark off the bench for the Lady Hawks this season. Webster is averaging 11.8 points per game this season ranking second on the team. That average jumps to 12.5 points per GLVC game. The Springfield, Ill. native averages five rebounds per game as well. The sophomore scored 17 points per game the past two games.

- Quincy is shooting 40.2% from three this season ranking fifth in NCAA Division II women's basketball. Nikia Edom has hit 2.08 triples per game while shooting 46.3% ranking 10th in NCAA DII. Megan Wienstroer ranks second in the GLVC making 47.6% while averaging one three per game.

- QU has shot 74.4% from the line this season ranking fifth in the GLVC and 41st in NCAA DII. In the last five minutes of play, the Lady Hawks raise that average to 77.5%. Maggie Cunningham has hit 44-of-48 (91.7%) free throws in the final five minutes of games. Cunningham is fourth in the GLVC and 37th in NCAA DII shooting 85.7% from the line this season. Kara Gerbus is averaging 83.1% from the line while hitting 49-of-59 ranking eighth in the GLVC in her senior campaign.

Five Fun Facts Rockhurst (13-10, 6-9 GLVC)
- Rockhurst holds a 9-4 record at home, but their home record falls to 2-4 in GLVC play this season.

- Rockhurst is shooting just 38.8% from the field this season. They shoot 36.7% from behind the three-point line. RU is losing the rebounding battle by almost four rebounds per game.

- Mary Dineen leads the Hawks with 18.3 points per game. Dineen is knocking down 47.1% from three.

- Lauren Meyers is averaging 12 points per game. Meyers leads the Hawks with 6.1 rebounds per contest.

- Jillian Myers leads Rockhurst with 4.2 assists per game. Myers also averages 4.7 rebounds per game.

- William Jewell is 4-7 at home this season and 2-6 at home in GLVC play. 

- Opponents are scoring two more points than the Cardinals this season and shooting 40.2% from the field. Opponents struggle from three against WJC hitting 32.6%.

- Maddie Nelson leads the Cardinals scoring 11.6 points per game. Nelson also leads WJC in rebounds with 6.9 per contest and assists with 4.5 per game.

- Along with Nelson, Blair Klostermann and Madison Campbell have started every game this season. Klostermann averages 9.2 points per game. Cambell is scoring 8.2 points per game.

- William Jewell lost their last two games by just one possession against Indianapolis (56-54) and Saint Joseph's (69-66). Both games were hosted by WJC. Their last win was at UW-Parkside (67-64) on Feb. 4.
