#18 Lewis Snaps Hawks Winning Streak at Five

QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University women's volleyball team had its five-match winning streak snapped on Saturday (Nov. 5) afternoon as No. 18 Lewis defeated the Hawks, 25-11, 25-16, 25-17, in Romeoville, Ill.
 
The Hawks (16-11, 10-5 GLVC) sit in a tie with Truman State for second place in the GLVC West, one match ahead of Missouri-St. Louis and Drury (9-6 GLVC). The Hawks concluded GLVC cross-divisional play with a 6-2 record against the East Division.
 
The Flyers (21-6, 14-1 GLVC) hit .381 in dispatching the Hawks, while holding the visitors to a .045 mark.
 
Senior Emily Lindemulder (Homer Glen, Ill./Chicago Christian) led the Hawks with eight kills on 19 attacks with just one error for a .368 hitting percentage. Juniors Jessica Licurgo (Goodyear, Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor) and Bekah Raebel (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) had six kills apiece.
 
Sophomore Taylor McMonagle (Green Bay, Wis./Denmark) led the defense with 17 digs while junior Rachel Shores (Huntley, Ill.) added 11. Freshman Sara Rathbun (Stanford, Ill./Olympia) dished out 21 assists.
 
The Hawks have two days off before making a trip to Truman State on Tuesday (Nov. 8) for a match that will break the tie in the GLVC West standings. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
