Raebel's 15 Kills Not Enough To Defeat Truman

QUINCY, Ill. – The Quincy University women's volleyball team dropped a straight-set match on Tuesday (Nov. 8) night at Truman State, 25-21, 25-22, 25-17, in GLVC West action.
 
The Hawks (16-12, 10-6 GLVC) slipped into a three-way tie for third place in the GLVC West with two matches to play in the regular season. Drury and Missouri-St. Louis are also 10-6 in the GLVC. The top three teams in each division and two wild cards advance to the GLVC Tournament.
 
On Tuesday, the Hawks could not get in a rhythm offensively, hitting .088 while the Bulldogs (14-15, 11-5 GLVC) hit at a .211 clip.
 
Junior Bekah Raebel (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) led all players with 15 kills (.256) to go with five digs. Senior Emily Lindemulder (Homer Glen, Ill./Chicago Christian) and junior Jessica Licurgo (Goodyear, Ariz./Sandra Day O'Connor) had seven kills apiece. Licurgo had two aces and three blocks.
 
Junior libero Rachel Shores (Huntley, Ill.) led the back row with 19 digs while sophomore Taylor McMonagle (Green Bay, Wis./Denmark) added 13. Junior Miranda Rodriguez (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) and freshman Sara Rathbun (Stanford, Ill./Olympia) split setting duties with 16 and 15 assists, respectively.
 
Jasmine Brown and Kayla Bastian had 10 kills apiece to lead the Bulldogs.
 
The Hawks will now travel to Kansas City on Friday to take on Rockhurst (24-5, 14-2 GLVC). First serve goes up at 7 p.m.
