#16 Lady Hawks Enter Unfriendly Air Space this Weekend

QUINCY, Ill. - The 16th ranked Quincy University women's basketball will hit the road to put their nine-game winning streak to the test against No. 18 Drury University and Missouri S&T. QU will head to Springfield, Mo. on Thursday, Jan. 28, to face DU in a premier Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the O'Reilly Family Event Center. On Saturday, the Lady Hawks will be in Rolla, Mo., home of Missouri S&T, for a game scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.

- Quincy is shooting 43% from three this season ranking number one in NCAA Division II women's basketball. Nikia Edom has hit 2.11 triples per game while shooting 52.1% ranking second in NCAA DII. Carly Beebe is hitting 57.1% from three with 16 made this season. Megan Wienstroer leads the GLVC making 53.1% while averaging 1.21 threes per game.

- Maggie Cunningham earned the first double-double of her career on Saturday, Jan. 23 against Missouri-St. Louis. Cunningham scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. The senior point guard also dished out eight assists. Cunningham netted 22 points on Thursday, Jan. 21 en route to a win over Maryville.

- Kara Gerbus and Carly Beebe combined for 50 points on Saturday, Jan. 23 against UMSL. Gerbus went to the line with four-tenths of a second on the clock trailing by two and hit both free throws to send the game to overtime. She continued her hot streak with nine points in overtime to finish with 26 and eight offensive boards. Beebe was 5-of-5 from three and tallied 24 points including the first 11 points of the game for QU.

- The Lady Hawks are on their second nine-game winning streak this season. QU split the streaks with a loss to Truman State on the road on Dec. 14. Since then the Lady Hawks have gone 2-0 on the road and 2-0 in neutral contests.

- QU has shot 75.5% from the line this season ranking third in the GLVC and 27th in NCAA DII. In the last five minutes of play, the Lady Hawks raise that average to 78.9%. Maggie Cunningham has hit 36-of-40 (90%) free throws in the final five minutes of games. Cunningham is fourth in the GLVC and 26th in NCAA DII shooting 87.1% from the line this season. Carly Beebe is averaging 87.2% from the line while hitting 34-of-39 in her senior campaign.

Drury Five Fun Facts

- Drury welcomes the Lady Hawks to the O'Reilly Family Event Center where they have yet to lose all season. The Lady Panthers are 7-0 on their home court.

- The Lady Panthers are scoring 75.8 points per game while shooting 46.2% from the field. Opponents are averaging 63 points per game and shooting 40.2% from the floor. The most points scored by a visitor to O'Reilly Family Event Center this season was the University of Indianapolis with 80 points.
