QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University men's and women's tennis teams fell to nationally ranked Drury University on Saturday (Apr. 4) 8-1 and 9-0 respectively.  The QU men clinched a Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament berth after William Jewell College lost to the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday as well.  QU has one more conference match with Rockhurst, but since they have a one game lead on WJC and the head-to-head win they will be advancing to the GLVC Championship Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. for the first time since 2012.

The QU men (8-8, 2-2 GLVC) fell in all three doubles matches to No. 15 Drury (15-1, 4-0 GLVC).

Wyatt Pauley won the sixth singles match against Trevor Bachus.  Pauley went down 6-3 in the first set.  He came back strong with a 6-1 second set win.  In the third set tiebreaker to 10 points, Pauley topped Bachus 10-8 to earn the Hawks' only point of the match.

The QU women (12-5, 1-3 GLVC) fell in straight sets to No. 20 Drury (16-1, 5-0 GLVC) on Saturday.  Elizabeth Kuenzi played to the closest finish for the Lady Hawks.  Kuenzi fell 6-4, 6-3 to Lara Muller in the third singles match.

The Quincy men welcome Saint Ambrose University on Thursday (Apr. 9) at 3 p.m.  The QU women will travel with the men to Rockhurst University on Friday (Apr. 10) in Kansas City, Mo. with a start time of 2 p.m.
