Hawks Fall at Truman State 3-0

QUINCY, Ill. - The Quincy University women's volleyball team fell to Truman State University, 3-0, on Tuesday (Oct. 6) night. TSU finished with a .223 hitting percentage and a match high .310 attacking percentage in the second set. QU also had a match high .243 attacking percentage in the second set and finished with a .104 hitting percentage for the three set match. 

The Hawks (8-9, 3-4 GLVC) started the match with an 11-6 lead to force a Bulldogs' (9-6, 4-3 GLVC) timeout. Out of the timeout, TSU locked in to tie QU 13-13 after a 7-2 run. Truman State would put together two four-point runs later in the set to win 25-18.

QU trailed 24-20 in the second set when Emily Lindemulder recorded back-to-back kills. An attack error by Truman State helped the Hawks to a one point set. Jasmine Brown finished the set for the Bulldogs with a kill to earn a 25-23 win.

The Bulldogs used three separate three-point runs and a five-point run to take a 25-18 win in the third set to finish the match.

Kayla Bastian led the Bulldogs with nine kills. Jessica Licurgo, Emily Lindemulder, Rachel Rush, and Taylor McMonagle each finished with six kills for the Hawks. Rachel Shores led the Hawks with 14 digs. Cassandra Cahill set 23 assists in the match.
