Raebel's 18 Kills Leads Hawks to Win at Drury

QUINCY, Ill. - Bekah Raebel recorded 18 kills and eight blocks to help the Quincy University women's volleyball team to a 3-2 win over Drury University in Springfield, Mo. on Friday (Oct. 23) night. QU limited mistakes while forcing 41 attacking errors by DU. Head Coach Bob Crank earned his 100th collegiate victory in the five-set winner.

The Hawks (11-12, 5-5 GLVC) trailed 12-10 in the final set against the Panthers (15-8, 5-5 GLVC). Jessica Licurgo started a four point rally with a kill. Bekah Raebel connected on a kill to tie the set 12-12. Licurgo served up an ace and forced a Drury timeout. 

With QU leading 14-13, Bekah Raebel and Emily Lindemulder combined to stonewall BJ Specht for the win.

Bekah Raebel led the Hawks with 18 kills and eight blocks. Miranda Rodriguez set 31 assists for QU and finished with 17 digs for a double-double. Jessica Licurgo hit .429 off the bench with seven kills. Rachel Shores led the defense with 19 digs. Gianna Lincoln finished with 18 digs and seven kills. Taylor McMonagle recorded six kills and 16 digs.

The Hawks trailed in set one 23-21 when Bekah Raebel took over. Raebel had two kills and a block assist in a four point swing. Raebel Gave the Hawks a 25-24 lead with a kill and a DU error got the win in set one.

The Hawks fell in the second set 25-14.

Raebel recorded six kills in the third set as the Hawks piled together a 25-18 set win.

The Hawks led 23-20 in the fourth set, but the Panthers went on a 7-2 run to end the set 27-25.

BJ Specht had 22 kills for the Panthers. Laynie Timmons recorded 18 kills and Brooke Antenen chipped in 15 kills.

The Hawks travel to Rolla, Mo. to face Missouri S&T tomorrow (Oct. 24) at 3 p.m.
