Hawks Fall to Knights in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Quincy University women's volleyball team fell to Bellarmine University in three sets on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 26).  QU hit .126 in the match with 22 attacking errors.  The Hawks were led by Bekah Raebel with 14 kills on the day.  BU won the match 3-0 with a .191 hitting percentage.  

The Hawks (8-16, 3-10 GLVC) had three separate three-point rallies in the first set and led 19-13.  The Knights (11-11, 4-9 GLVC) answered with three four-point runs to tie the set 24-24 and eventually win set one 26-24. 

The Hawks had 10 attacking errors in the first set and hit .045 as a team.  The Knights had 12 kills and four attacking errors in the set.

The Knights took a 16-11 lead in the second set.  The Hawks pulled within two points at 20-18 to force a Bellarmine timeout.  The Knights scored five of the final eight points to take the second set 25-21.  

The Knights took an early lead, but the Hawks hung with them.  QU inched back to within one point at 21-20.  The Knights pulled away to win 25-22 in the third set with four of the next six points.

Sommer Holder led the Hawks with 23 digs.  Miranda Rodriguez had 22 assists to lead QU.  Bekah Raebel led the team with 14 kills and a .393 attacking percentage.  The Hawks finished with seven team blocks.

QU will start a five-game home stand to end the regular season starting Tuesday night (Oct. 28).  The Hawks play host to Truman State University in Pepsi Arena with the game scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
